GUM ARABIC TRANSFER PRINTING (PAPER LITHOGRAPHY) ON FABRIC

Friday. 10 June. NEARLY FULL

Create a stash of textile prints to embellish and develop at a later date. Using a black and white photocopy, transfer indelible images of drawings or text onto a variety of textile surface.

Cost £90 to include most materials.

MIXED MEDIA TECHNIQUES ON PAPER.

18-19 June

Get in touch with your creatively and learn a variety of mixed media techniques that will banish that blank page syndrome. Over 2 days you will experiment with paint, ink and gum arabic transfer printing (paper lithography) to create a set of 4 page folded booklets.

COLLAGRAPH WITH BOTANICAL CONTACT PRINTED PAPERS

25-26 June. 3 PLACES AVAILABLE

Using leaves and flowers create beautiful botanical backgrounds on paper. Then spend the rest of the workshop making collagraph plates using plater and texture to print onto them.

You will also be experimenting with a variety of inking techniques and will come away with a unique collection of prints on paper

GELLI PLATE MONO PRINTING
1 July. NEARLY FULL
Do you have a Gelli Plate and are looking for advanced techniques in using it? This one day workshop will cover a variety of transfer techniques using magazines and wax together with layering and over printing.
Cost £70 to include paper and paint. Bring your own Gelli Plate and roller.

LINO PRINTING WITH BOTANICAL CONTACT PRINTED PAPERS

20-21 August

Using leaves and flowers create beautiful botanical backgrounds on paper. Then spend the rest of the workshop making and printing lino cuts to add to these natural backgrounds.

You will also be experimenting with a variety of inking techniques and will come away with a unique collection of prints on paper

MIXED MEDIA SKETCHBOOK MASTER CLASS. Includes Gum Arabic transfer (Paper Lithography). 

7-9 October

Over 3 days you will fill up a sketch book, supplied as part of the workshop and explore your creativity. Learn how to beat that blank page syndrome that strikes us down as soon as we open a new sketch book. Learn how I develop my sketch book pages. This workshop will study mixed media techniques in further depth than the 2 day workshops held earlier in the year. Spend 3 days exploring personal imagery with light technical support.

10am - 4pm each day

Cost: £300 to include a sketch book, 21 x 10cm and most materials.

5-6 November

Spend the weekend combining collagraph and lino print in one image. Learn  make a simple collagraph, add a lino motif and register your image

You will also be experimenting with blended rubs and  and will come away with a unique collection of prints on paper

MIXED MEDIA FABRIC BOOK

19-20 November

Using gum arabic transfer printing (paper lithography), acrylic resist, mono print, stitching and stamping to name just a few of the techniques covered, create several excitingly textural textile books. At the end of the workshop you will have created at least 2 fabric books exploring layering techniques using traditional and non traditional textile materials

VISCOSITY MONOPRINTING.

3 December

Take mono print to the next creative level by using viscosity inking techniques. Spend the day creating a series of coloured images and understanding a little about ink science.

All courses are suitable for beginners and experienced artists.

The weekend courses start at 10.00am till 4.00pm.

Bring a packed lunch. Tea and coffee are provided.

Printmaking is a messy business so old clothes and aprons are advised.

All course fees must be paid 1 week before the course start date.
